James Emmerson is a seasoned creative professional with over 13 years of experience in design and branding. Originally trained as a fine artist, James gained recognition with his work featured in Damien Hirst’s Murder Me Collection and as the winner of the Accenture Art Prize.
As the founder and former Creative Director of The Good Agency Asia, a renowned branding agency based in Shanghai, James led award-winning campaigns for major clients such as Khun Rikon, De Bortolli, ICEFRESH, Cote et Ciel, SHOKAY, and numerous charitable organisations. His visionary leadership and creative prowess earned him two prestigious industry awards in 2016 at Transform Asia.
Following the closure of The Good Agency Asia, James transitioned to the role of Senior Art Director at Teehee Asia. There, he spearheaded innovative creative concepts and copywriting strategies for clients like Philips, Disney, Schwarzkopf, and L’Oréal. Additionally, he played a key role in the video production team, writing storyboards and directing for various hair care products including Kerastase, Extra Care, and Syoss.
Currently serving as the Creative Director at Overnight Design, a Thailand-based agency specialising in fast, high-quality PowerPoint presentations for clients in the UK and US, James leverages his extensive experience to deliver exceptional results. Leveraging time zone differences, Overnight Design offers clients a stress-free and efficient workflow.
In addition to his impressive portfolio of work, James has facilitated major workshops for leading brands seeking to refresh their image and delve into the core foundations of their business. With a knack for setting up successful design studios in Asia, James has transformed these ventures into revenue-generating powerhouses while maintaining a commitment to creativity.
